This world is what WE make of it.
If we want change in our lives we have to change things in our lives.
If we want change in this world we have to change things in this world.
Change is rarely easy.
We have to distance ourselves from destructive things and the people who condone them.
Those people are often ones we have grown to love and depend on and at times may even be our family members. I remember my mother telling me once in a heated conversation that I could pick my friends but I couldn’t pick my family. I learned from there that you don’t always have to surround yourself with your family though. And to be careful of who to surround yourself with otherwise.
We have to reach for relationships with productive people and especially mend old relationships, when ever at all possible.
This is ALL often uncomfortable.
And most importantly we have to be willing to change the way we think.
Because what we do,
is always a projection,
of the way we think.
Many people subconsciously avoid changing their lives (and the world) because it requires us to hold ourselves and the people around us accountable. Because most people need someone else to help hold themselves accountable until they are strong enough to do it for themselves. This can be awkward, and this can be endearing.
Holding ourselves accountable requires deep inner strength. Once someone is strong enough to hold themselves accountable it becomes their duty to help someone else. Otherwise the growth stops with them. And eventually the change defaults to a type of chaos (has your life ever felt like hell on earth?).
Change is like a chain reaction. It can happen quickly and spread around the globe as fast as a satellite signal.
For better or worse WE are the instruments of change.
A force of nature.
The winds of change begin,
